The Villa we stayed in was called a Beach Pool Villa. You can easily call it the ultimate beach lover’s heaven in Tangalle. Enviably positioned on the shoreline, these villas offer nothing but luxury vacation vibes. These villas allow you to spend moments walking in the beach or basking in the sunshine on your deck or plunging into your private pool for a quick swim. Each villa is allocated a butler who will take care of you throughout your stay at the Resort.
These villas are 64 sqm in size with a master bedroom that has a king-sized bed, separate outdoor terrace with outdoor dining furniture, sunbeds, an indoor living area, a BOSE sound system, bicycles and a spacious and luxurious bathroom with a walk-in closet.
The Villa offers maximum privacy and it really feels like your home away from home.
The service levels at Anantara Tangalle is quite remarkable. We received a very warm Sri Lankan style welcome as we entered the resort. A whole team of staff dressed in traditional Sri Lankan costumes were there to usher us in. Our personal butler Isuru contacted us before we even reached the hotel so he could organize our lunch.
We took a buggy cart to our room and our butler Isuru gave us a detailed room tour. All our requests were well received and fulfilled by hotel staff.
The restaurant staff were super nice and attentive to all our needs. They were never late to clear off used plates and cutlery. And if you are too lazy to walk to the buffet, they will most certainly get it for you from the buffet.
As there was no one checking-in to our room that day, they allowed us to stay as late as 6.00pm in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our additional time swimming in our private pool.
We went on HB basis so had to buy Lunch on the day of arrival. Given Anantara is a global luxury brand their prices are on the high side. I ordered spaghetti carbonara and hubby got himself a Mutton Biriyani. Given the high prices, I felt that the quality of food could definitely be further improved.
We absolutely loved spending time at IL Mare, an Italian Restaurant with the best views in the house. I mean who wouldn’t want to sip a cool glass of bubbly while taking in the views of the Indian Ocean? Apart from being in our villa, we spent most of our time here.
